Abstract:
• Breastfeeding is a natural process that has been shown to provide numerous benefits for both mothers and babies.
• However, despite its importance, many hospitals and healthcare facilities still do not prioritize breastfeeding support.
• BFHI is a global initiative that includes a global assessment and accreditation scheme that recognizes the achievements of health facilities whose practices support breastfeeding and encourages health facilities with less-than-optimal practices to improve.
